The Sanctuary is located along the west side of Roosevelt Island.

If you are planning to take the subway, tram, or staying at The Graduate Hotel, it is about a 1 mi walk to the venue. There are two transportation options:

  • Free, public transportation “Red Bus” that runs in a loop on the island. Stops are marked as “RIOC Bus.” Get off at “The Octagon” at 888 Main St, then walk west 150ft to The Sanctuary. (Google Maps directions here)

  • Starting at 4:15pm a Wedding Shuttle Bus will be available and pickup at The Graduate Hotel, Tramway West Bus Stop, and the Subway Plaza Bus Stop.

  • Use the nearby apartment complex as the drop off address:

    Then walk west about 150ft to The Sanctuary.

  • The Roosevelt Island station is available along the F-line. If traveling in from Manhattan, board a train that is heading towards Queens.

    Travel on foot along the west side of the island or board the Red Bus that stops immediately in front of the Subway exit.

  • The famous tramway that crosses over the East River can be boarded from the Tramway Plaza located at E 60th St. & 2nd Ave.

    A Metrocard is required to board the tram. Allow for an extra 30-45 mins due to the popularity of the tram.

    Travel on foot along the west side of the island or board the Red Bus that stops immediately in front of the tramway exit.

  • The Roosevelt Island Ferry Terminal is on the east side of the island. See the “Astoria” route for all stops along the route.

  • Roosevelt lsland is accessible by car only via the Roosevelt Island bridge from Queens.

    Visitor parking is available at the Motorgate parking garage and metered short-term parking is available along Main Street.

    Motorgate is the central parking facility on the Island. It is open 24 hours a day and accessible via the first right hand turn after coming across the Roosevelt Island Bridge.
